Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is finally becoming a paid for app this December, but you might want to pick it up sooner rather than later to save some money

Don’t worry, Animal Crossing completionists! You’ll soon have the opportunity to re-add Pocket Camp to your collection – just make sure to purchase it now.

In August, Nintendo announced that the service for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp would be ending, following the trend of many other mobile games. However, unlike most, Nintendo revealed that the game would not be shutting down entirely. Instead, it will be relaunching as a paid app with most gameplay features remaining intact, along with some exciting new additions. This is a rare win in the world of mobile gaming.

Nintendo recently shared a detailed overview of the upcoming revamp, extending the service termination date to November 28 at 3pm UTC. The new app, now titled Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, is set to be released on December 3. This updated version of the game will be available for $10, which may seem steep for a mobile game but is relatively inexpensive for a full gaming experience. However, there’s a catch – the price will increase to $20 after January 31, 2025. Therefore, it’s advisable for avid Animal Crossing fans to make the purchase during the two-month launch window to save some money.

For those concerned about losing their progress in Pocket Camp, there’s no need to worry. You’ll be able to transfer your save data, and additional information on this process can be found on the official website. The comprehensive video above also reveals new features such as Camper Cards and a new location to explore in the game.
