Welcome back to the Apple Crime Log, where we bring you the latest updates on criminal activities involving Apple products and services. In this edition, authorities recover stolen Apple products worth $320,000, and we delve into Jeffrey Epstein’s preference for a particular tablet.

Authorities Retrieve $320K Worth of Stolen Apple Products

Law enforcement from two states collaborated to recover approximately $320,000 in stolen Apple products taken from a tractor-trailer in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Six individuals have been apprehended in connection with the theft.

ABC 27 reveals that the suspects opened the trailer and unloaded the shipment, primarily consisting of iPads destined for a warehouse. The thieves fled in two vehicles, each of which was intercepted by state police in separate states.

Authorities had been monitoring an organized cargo theft ring targeting Apple products. Tracking devices had been previously placed on the two involved vehicles – a Ford transit van and a Kia – as they had been used in prior thefts.

One vehicle was stopped on the Pennsylvania Turnpike by Pennsylvania State Police, while the other was intercepted by New Jersey State Police.

Six individuals, aged from their early 20s to 40s, face charges of theft and conspiracy: Guillermo Cavero, Josue Penafiel-Murillo, Isreal Hernandez, Justin Largo, Miguel Oyola-Coronel, and Jose Rivera.

Rivera and Oyola-Coronel are currently detained in Cumberland County Prison due to insufficient bail funds, with preliminary hearings scheduled for Nov. 12. The other four suspects are yet to be arraigned in Cumberland County.

‘Every Single One’ of Jeffrey Epstein’s Newly-Released Emails Sent From iPads

A significant collection of emails exchanged with influential figures associated with the late Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex trafficker, was recently disclosed by a Congressional committee.

According to Jacob Shamsian of Business Insider, every email in the cache was sent from an iPad. Shamsian reveals that the FBI seized six iPads from Epstein’s Manhattan residence, where he used them extensively for email correspondence.

Many of Epstein’s emails bear the signature “sent from my iPad,” and one of his Gmail addresses was identified as “Jeeitunes.”

FedEx Worker Allegedly Pilfers 26 Apple Products

Osvaldo Bou, a 37-year-old employee at a FedEx Freight facility in Lower Swatara Township, PA, stands accused of stealing 26 Apple products valued at nearly $13,000, as reported by ABC 27.

The stolen items included 13 Apple Watches, six iPhones, five Apple Watch bands, and a MacBook. Surveillance footage captured Bou rummaging through a shipment, with ten Apple Watch boxes found concealed in his safety vest when confronted.

After being terminated from his position, Bou led his employers to a Bass Pro Shop where he had stashed some of the stolen items in a backpack. He now faces a felony theft charge.

Philadelphia Concert Attendees Track Stolen iPhones to China

Recent reports from the Philadelphia Inquirer highlight a spate of large-scale iPhone thefts at local concerts, with victims tracing their devices’ locations to China via Find My iPhone.

Attendees at one event reported over 100 iPhones missing, with some phones initially appearing in New York and New Jersey before making their way to Hong Kong or Shenzhen.

Law enforcement officials acknowledge the challenges in recovering stolen phones once they are taken.
