Monster Hunter Wilds showcase confirms open beta for next week

Capcom’s latest Monster Hunter Wilds showcase has revealed more biomes and monsters for the highly anticipated new game. The showcase also confirmed an open beta test that will be happening next week on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test will be held at the following dates and times next week, with PS Plus subscribers getting early access:

  • PlayStation 5 with PlayStation Plus Early Access – October 29 at 03:00am GMT – October 31 at 02:59am GMT
  • PS5 (Non-PlayStation Plus), Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam – November 1 at 03:00am GMT – November 4 at 01:59am GMT

PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions are not required for the open beta from November 1st, but will be needed for the full game next year.

The open beta test will include the complete character creation tool, a Story Trial with tutorials and a Chatacabra hunt, and a free-roaming Doshaguma Hunt where players can pursue the Doshaguma pack or explore the Windward Plains.

Players will have cross-play functionality between all platforms, and participating in the beta will reward them with a bonus pendant for their weapons or Seikret mount in the full game.

During the showcase, Capcom introduced the Oilwell Basin, known for its boiling oil wells and firestorms during Firespring. The Brute Wyvern Rompopolo, a formidable predator, releases toxic gas to weaken its prey, while the Ajarakan, a fanged beast, competes for territory in this region.

Explore the village of Azuz within this biome, featuring a massive forge and legends of the Black Flame beneath the basin.

Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for release on February 28, 2025, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
