Exciting news for Horizon Zero Dawn fans as the remastered version is on the horizon with pre-orders now available. Sony has made some changes in preparation for the game’s relaunch, including removing the original game from sale on PC (with a twist) and adjusting the price on PS4.
On PC, the original Horizon Zero Dawn is no longer available for individual purchase on platforms like Steam and Epic. However, it is still accessible as part of a bundle with Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered at no extra cost. While the standalone version is no longer available on PC, it can still be purchased separately on GOG.com for £40.
PlayStation users will also see a price adjustment for Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition on PS4, now priced at £35. The Remastered version for PS5 will cost £45 and includes the original game for PS4. This means that purchasing the Remastered version essentially gets you both editions of the game.
For existing Horizon Zero Dawn owners, there is an option to upgrade to the Remastered version for £10. Keep in mind that if you own the game on disc, you will need to have the disc inserted to play the upgraded version.
PC players should note that Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will require a PlayStation Network account, which is now a mandatory requirement for PlayStation’s PC games. This change has sparked some debate among the PC gaming community.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered arrives seven years after the original game’s success in 2017. With updated graphics to match the quality seen in Horizon Forbidden West, as well as PS5 Pro support and improved dialogue and animations, the remastered version promises an enhanced gaming experience.
