The latest update at 9:21 PM ET acknowledges difficulties in launching games, apps, or network features, with Sony working to resolve the issue promptly.
Personal attempts to launch a game resulted in a “PS5 error Code WS-116522-7,” indicating a system software update failure. Players are unable to sign in, play multiplayer games, or access certain single-player games that require online connection for sign-in. Offline games, however, appear to be unaffected by the outage.
