This December marks the 30th anniversary of PlayStation, and Sony has some exciting plans in store for the celebration. It appears that the highly anticipated PS5 Pro may have been revealed by then, as the console can be spotted in promotional material.
Can you spot it? It’s a bit subtle, so look closely between the bottom of the PlayStation logo and the number three.
There it is, the triple-striped design of the leaked PS5 Pro console that surfaced a few days ago.
As part of the 30th anniversary celebrations, Sony has outlined the following plans:
- My First GT. This holiday season, gamers can look forward to a free trial version of Gran Turismo 7 designed to appeal to players of all skill levels. The trial will feature favorite cars, tracks, and race events reminiscent of the original GT experience. More details on My First GT will be available to all PS5 and PS4 players this holiday.
- Digital game soundtracks. Sony Music will collaborate with PlayStation to release digital soundtracks from popular PlayStation franchises on Spotify each month from October to January. These soundtracks can be streamed on Spotify or purchased from digital music platforms like Amazon Music, Apple Music, and other retailers.
- God of War
- God of War II
- God of War: Ghost of Sparta
- Twisted Metal
- Starhawk
- Unit 13
- Shapes of Play. A new product line called “Shapes of Play,” created by the PlayStation console design team, offers opportunities to engage with iconic shapes in various ways:
- Shapes of Play: Battle is a board game where players can compete to align four shapes of the same color on the board.
- Shapes of Play: Create consists of magnetic blocks that can be arranged to form different shapes.
- Shapes of Play: Recharge provides a unique way to recharge between gaming sessions, especially after challenging boss battles.
- Free online multiplayer weekend and esports tournaments. Sony will host a free online multiplayer weekend and esports tournaments later this month to celebrate the vibrant online gaming community on PlayStation. Players can enjoy online multiplayer for games they own without a PlayStation Plus membership on Sept. 21 and 22, on both PS5 and PS4 consoles.
Stay tuned for more exciting announcements as additional details will be revealed later this year.
