Instagram Plus may tempt creators, but WhatsApp Plus is an easier skip

Meta is rolling out subscription plans globally for its major apps, believing that some users will pay a monthly fee for additional controls, customization options, and enhanced visibility. Following successful testing with select user groups, Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp will now offer subscription plans.

Meta’s Plus plans now available worldwide

Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus are priced at $3.99 per month, while WhatsApp Plus costs $2.99 per month. The free versions of these apps will remain available, with basic functionalities like posting, messaging, calling, and browsing unaffected by the subscriptions.

Instagram Plus offers enhanced features for frequent Story posters, including detailed Story analytics, extended Story lifespan, the ability to spotlight Stories, and more. Facebook Plus provides additional tools for social engagement and personalization.

WhatsApp Plus focuses on personalization

WhatsApp Plus aims to personalize the app experience with premium stickers, unique themes, chat pinning, and custom ringtones for important contacts at $2.99 per month.

One standout feature of WhatsApp Plus is list customization, allowing users to set unique tones and themes for different chat groups, which can be particularly useful for managing multiple conversations efficiently.

While Instagram Plus targets creators seeking audience growth, WhatsApp Plus may be considered more optional for users due to its focus on personalization features. The decision to subscribe will depend on individual preferences and needs.
