iOS 26.5 paves the way for ads on Apple Maps, with text indicating that local ads may be displayed based on location and search terms. Additionally, a Suggested Places feature will provide recommendations based on user activity.
RCS Encryption
iOS 26.5 implements end-to-end encryption for RCS messaging, with the feature enabled by default. Users can manage this option in Settings > Messages > RCS Messaging.
