Using Offensive AI Cyber Tools for Defense
Yinon Costica, co-founder of Wiz (a Google-owned company), emphasized the importance of security leaders utilizing offensive AI cyber tools on their own systems before threat actors do. By leveraging AI to exploit the defenders’ advantage of context, organizations can increase their chances of withstanding cyber attacks.
Costica highlighted that defenders have more context about their environments compared to attackers, giving them an edge when using AI for defense strategies. He advised security teams to act quickly and use AI to scan attack surfaces, code, and other areas to stay ahead of potential threats.
Introducing New AI Agents
At Google Cloud Next, Wiz unveiled three new AI agents – red, green, and blue – designed to assist human cyber teams in various security tasks. The red agent focuses on penetration testing, the green agent automates triage processes, and the blue agent acts as a detective for investigative work.
Costica explained that these agents work together to automate security workflows, helping teams accelerate their processes and respond more effectively to risks.
Enhancing Security Capabilities
Following the recent acquisition of Wiz by Google, the two companies are committed to providing a unified security platform that enhances threat detection, prevention, and response. They aim to accelerate multicloud security adoption and foster innovation in cloud and AI technologies.
Wiz’s products will continue to be available on various platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud. The company also announced support for Databricks and agent studios like AWS Agentcore and Microsoft Azure Copilot Studio.
Securing the AI-native Deployment Cycle
Wiz introduced new capabilities to secure the AI-native deployment cycle, including scanning AI-coded applications for issues, AI-generated code scanning, agent-based remediation, and an AI bill of materials (AI-BOM) to monitor the use of shadow AI in coding.
Overall, the collaboration between Wiz and Google aims to empower security teams with advanced AI tools to stay ahead of evolving cyber threats and ensure a more secure digital environment.
