Get ready for the roar of the iconic Godzilla as we unveil a sneak peek at the highly anticipated kaiju film, Godzilla Minus Zero. This upcoming installment follows the success of 2023’s Godzilla Minus One, which brought the franchise back to its roots with a more grounded approach. While the teaser trailer leaves much to the imagination, it hints at exciting developments for the series.
Minus Zero takes place in 1949, picking up two years after the events of the previous film, as the Shikishima family grapples with a new catastrophe. The official synopsis teases a shift from Tokyo to New York, showcasing Godzilla’s towering presence next to the Statue of Liberty. Stars Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe are set to reprise their roles, with director Takashi Yamazaki at the helm once again. Toho promises that Minus Zero will be the first Japanese film shot for IMAX.
Godzilla enthusiasts have much to look forward to, as the legendary creature will also make an appearance in Legendary’s upcoming Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, and is currently featured in the Apple TV series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. Mark your calendars for the release of Godzilla Minus Zero in theaters on November 6th.
