Perplexity AI ‘Comet’ browser for iPhone now available

Perplexity’s AI-focused web browser, Comet, made its debut on Mac last summer. Now, the highly anticipated iOS version of Comet is finally available.

Initially, Perplexity had listed Comet for iPhone on the App Store with a pre-order option. The launch date was set for March 11, but the team decided to delay it by a week, releasing it today instead.

Comet for iPhone, like its Mac counterpart, prioritizes Perplexity-powered search and chat features. It serves as a personal assistant and thinking partner, helping users boost focus, streamline workflow, and turn curiosity into momentum.

The AI browser offers unified search, instant context, and automation on every site. Users can summarize, shop, schedule, and research directly within the browser, allowing the AI assistant to handle various tasks efficiently.

Comet adapts to users’ habits and work methods, keeping them organized and ensuring they never lose track of tabs or inspiration.

While there is no iPad version of Comet available yet, users can now download Comet for iPhone. Perplexity has also introduced Personal Computer, an AI agent that runs locally on Mac devices.

For more information on Comet for iPhone, MacStories’ Federico Viticci has written a detailed review.
