Google Just Made the Pixel 10a Look Even More Stupid

The Pixel 10a had a rough start, facing criticism for lack of upgrades from its predecessor even before its release.

After reviewing it, our initial conclusion remains unchanged. This sentiment is echoed by other tech sites as well. The almost identical Pixel 9a offers much better value at its reduced price of £349, with some listings as low as £299.

To add insult to injury, Google has now provided another reason to steer clear of their 2026 mid-range smartphone.

The regular Pixel 10 is currently on sale with a substantial £250 discount, bringing its price down to just £549. That’s only £50 more than the 10a.

You can snag this deal from the official Google store, as well as retailers like Amazon, Argos, and Currys. Amazon’s deal is set to end on 8 April, so act fast before other retailers follow suit.

For just a slightly higher price, the Pixel 10 offers numerous features that the 10a lacks, including Pixelsnap magnetic wireless charging (faster at 15W), a 5x telephoto rear camera, a more powerful Tensor G5 processor, 12GB of RAM, and an improved ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

Despite being slightly heavier and lacking a completely flush back design, the Pixel 10 boasts significant upgrades.

Considering the options, it’s a “piggy in the middle” situation. If you’re eyeing the Pixel 10a, think about either “downgrading” to the better value 9a or seizing the opportunity to upgrade with the flagship Pixel 10 available at an enticing discount.
