At the forefront of our fantasy action gaming radar is Crimson Desert from Pearl Abyss. With each new glimpse of the game, our excitement only grows stronger here at TSA towers.
The latest 15-minute showcase unveils a wealth of new details about the world of Pywel, the protagonist Kliff, and the immersive gameplay experience that awaits players. Having had the chance to play Crimson Desert at Gamescom a few years back, I can attest to its challenging yet captivating nature, leaving me eager to delve deeper into the stunning world crafted by Pearl Abyss.
Pywel is a land of vast wilderness, lively cities, ancient ruins, and diverse landscapes, all amidst escalating conflicts and supernatural threats. Divided into five unique regions – Hernand, Pailune, Demeniss, Delesyia, and the Crimson Desert – each area offers its own tales, environments, and obstacles. While following Kliff’s main quest, players are free to explore the world at their own pace, engaging in faction quests, epic battles, fortress sieges, and intimate character-driven missions.
Kliff, a warrior of the Greymanes faction hailing from the northern region of Pailune, embarks on a journey to reunite his people and reclaim their homeland following a devastating upheaval. As the narrative unfolds, players uncover the dire fate that looms over the entire continent.
Joining Kliff on his quest are two additional playable characters, each with their own combat styles, skills, and weaponry, offering a diverse gameplay experience. While one character may wield magical abilities, the other could excel as a ranger – only time will reveal their true potential!
Exploration is key in Crimson Desert, with players traversing Pywel on horseback, scaling terrain, gliding across distances, and eventually accessing advanced traversal options like mech suits and dragons. The expansive open world is brimming with hidden treasures, ancient puzzles, and points of interest to satisfy players’ curiosity and sense of discovery.
Combat in Crimson Desert is a dynamic mix of facing enemy soldiers, sorcerers, beasts, and machines, challenging players’ adaptability and skill.
