- OnePlus exec confirms higher refresh rate
- Phone to come in threes colours
- Certification appearance confirms fast wired charging
A plethora of details regarding the upcoming OnePlus 15 smartphone have surfaced from both official and unofficial sources, with one particular specification standing out.
First and foremost, Li Jie, President of OnePlus China, has confirmed on the local social network Weibo that the OnePlus 15 will indeed boast a 165Hz display.
In light of the buzz surrounding the iPhone 17 launch, various manufacturers are taking aim at Apple, and OnePlus is no exception.
“Welcome to Apple’s ‘High Refresh Era'”, writes Li Jie, in reference to the iPhone 17 finally incorporating a 120Hz ProMotion display in the base model.

While extending his well-wishes, Li Jie’s announcement hints at OnePlus leading the industry again by ushering in a new ‘Ultra-High Refresh Era’!
Although not explicitly stated, this seems to confirm earlier rumors of a 165Hz refresh rate coming with the OnePlus 15.
Will this significantly enhance the user experience? In my experience with phones like the Motorola Edge 40 Pro, it may not, but time will tell. OnePlus has always optimized its UI to feel exceptionally fluid at 120Hz, so perhaps it can make further strides that other manufacturers have not been able to.
OnePlus 15 colours and charging speed
Returning to yesterday, renowned leaker Digital Chat Station claimed that the OnePlus 15 would be available in three colors: Original Sand Dune (also referred to as Titanium), Absolute Black, and Mist Purple.
The former will weigh 211g, while the latter two finishes will be slightly heavier at 215g.
This follows a recent revelation about a week ago when the OnePlus 15 appeared in TÜV certification, confirming the new phone’s support for 120W wired charging – a significant upgrade from the OnePlus 13’s 100W charging.
Prior to this, a Geekbench 6 listing for the phone suggested it will feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip and 16GB of RAM, making it quite a powerhouse.
