Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Single Player Demo Coming on September 17th
Sega has announced that a Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds single player demo is set to release on 17th September, giving players a chance to try out the arcade kart racer before its full launch on 25th September.
The demo will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. However, PS4 and Xbox One players will have to wait as these platforms are excluded from the demo for now. This single player demo follows the recent Open Network Test which also had platform restrictions.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds introduces an interdimensional twist to the traditional kart racing genre. Races will take you to different zones known as CrossWorlds for the second lap, and the game features non-Sega characters like Hatsune Miku, Ichiban Kasuga from Like A Dragon, Joker from Persona 5, and Pac-Man.
One of the standout features of the game is the Gadget Plates system, offering deep customization options for players. Players can equip various car-modifying Gadgets in two rows of three slots, affecting vehicle speed, acceleration, item carrying capacity, boost, item types, and more.
Having had hands-on experience with Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds at Gamescom, the game offers a unique visual style reminiscent of classic Sega arcade games, fast and responsive racing mechanics, and extensive customization through the Gadget Plate system. The game aims to carve its own path in the racing genre with innovative twists and turns.
Stay tuned for the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds single player demo on 17th September to get a taste of what the full game has to offer.
