Back in March, Chinese smartphone maker Vivo introduced its ‘Vision’ XR headset, and now the company has officially released the device’s specifications and started live demos in China. The Vision headset is lighter and more affordable than the Apple Vision Pro, with a design that takes inspiration from Apple’s product.
During the product launch event in Dongguan, China, Vivo provided more details about the Vision headset, which is initially available in a ‘Discovery Edition’.
Although the headset is not yet available for purchase, Vivo has started demoing it in various cities across China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou.
It remains uncertain whether Vivo plans to release the headset outside of China, as the design similarities with Apple could pose a challenge. However, reports suggest that the price could be around ¥10,000 (~$1,400), significantly lower than the Vision Pro’s $3,500 price tag.

The Vivo Vision is significantly lighter than the Vision Pro, weighing only 398g compared to Vision Pro’s 600g. Vivo claims that it is 26% smaller than the industry average, enhancing overall comfort.
Similar to Vision Pro, Vivo is focusing on hand-tracked interactions, including “move-and-pinch” gestures supported by high-precision eye-tracking, fingertip recognition, and a wide tracking range.
The dual micro-OLED displays offer 8K resolution, 94% color coverage, and precise color accuracy, making the visuals comparable to professional cinema monitors.

The headset comes with four light seal sizes and eight foam padding options to ensure a perfect fit.
Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset, the Vivo Vision offers significant GPU and AI performance upgrades over the previous generation.
Unlike other headsets, Vivo Vision runs on its custom operating system called ‘OriginOS Vision’, providing a unique user experience.
