Honor has just announced its upcoming compact flip phone, the Magic V Flip 2, and Samsung might want to keep an eye out – although Honor’s release history could pose some challenges.
The Magic V Flip 2 will be officially unveiled by the Chinese manufacturer on August 21, just a day after Google’s Pixel 10 event.
In addition to the launch date, Honor has also shared initial images showcasing the design and color options of the foldable phone.
The special edition Prof. Jimmy Choo version, featuring a captivating ‘sky at night’ design, has caught our attention. Other color options include light purple, off-white, and dark grey.

Honor Magic V Flip 2 design and likely availability
One notable design change in the Magic V Flip 2 is that both camera modules are now the same size. Honor seems to have taken inspiration from the design of the Galaxy Z Flip 7, although the orientation of the cameras remains vertical.
The phone still retains the unique design element of having a camera flash on the lower half.
While specific details are limited, the anticipation for the Honor Magic V Flip 2 is high. With only a few flagship Flip phone options available, such as the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, Honor could potentially make a strong entry into this market – provided the phone is released outside of China. The absence of the original Honor Magic V Flip in Europe was a missed opportunity.
