Earlier this month, the Trump Organization made headlines with the launch of its own mobile phone company. Donald Trump Jr., Executive Vice President of the organization, stated that the venture aims to provide value to underserved Americans in the mobile industry.

Trump Mobile introduced its first products, a phone plan called The 47 Plan and a smartphone named the T1. Despite initial doubts about the feasibility of such a phone being manufactured in the US, the company claimed that the T1 would be designed and built in America.

However, there have been contradictions regarding the origin of the T1 smartphone. While the Trump Mobile website initially stated it was “Made in the USA,” the language has since been revised to emphasize American values and quality in the design process.

The FTC has strict regulations on products labeled as “Made in the USA,” requiring them to be predominantly manufactured in the United States. It remains to be seen if Trump Mobile can compete with established brands like Apple and if the T1 will truly be a US-made product.

Despite the changes in language on the website, a Trump Mobile spokesperson maintains that the T1 is still being produced in the US. Pre-orders for the smartphone are currently available with a $100 deposit.
