NetEase Games Announces Blood Message, a New Action Adventure Game Set in Ancient China

NetEase Games and 24 Entertainment Lin’an Studio have unveiled a captivating new linear action adventure game called Blood Message, set in Ancient China. The game’s reveal trailer showcases a blend of cinematic sequences and gameplay footage, featuring platforming, puzzles, and intense combat reminiscent of titles like Uncharted and Tomb Raider.

Blood Message is described as follows: “Set in the late Tang Dynasty in 848 AD, players assume the role of a nameless messenger embarking on a dangerous journey across China to deliver a crucial message that could alter the fate of his homeland. Accompanied by his son, they must navigate through enemy sieges and a perilous odyssey spanning three thousand miles, facing insurmountable challenges to reach the heart of the Tang Dynasty: Chang’an. Amidst the vast desert, they immortalize a tale of unwavering loyalty in the Great Tang. While stories of emperors and generals abound, Blood Message pays tribute to the unsung heroes.”

The protagonist’s journey in Blood Message spans 1000 miles, taking them through deserts and wilderness as they strive to deliver a message that could shape the destiny of the country during Dunhuang’s uprising. The trailer showcases intense battles against formidable foes and encounters with natural hazards that pose significant threats.

“With Blood Message, we are introducing players to a new era of thrilling adventure,” stated Zhipeng Hu, Lead Producer and Executive Vice President at NetEase. “As NetEase Games’ inaugural single-player focused title, we are committed to delivering an epic and cinematic gaming experience to players worldwide after two decades of dedicated involvement in the industry.”

While a specific release date for Blood Message has not been announced, the game is confirmed for release on PC and consoles.
