Last week was mostly spent immersed in Mario Kart World, sharing tips on unlocking characters, costumes, and new game mechanics. It was during my research on Dash Foods that I had a startling realization.
Dash Foods, ranging from milk bottles to burgers to extravagant meals like the Prehistoric Feast, can be found at various food stalls, food trucks, and even on the roadside in the game. This led me to ponder where these items actually originate from.
For instance, Peach and Daisy’s Royal Patisserie Desserts offer baked goods, while Cheep Cheep Beach serves sushi. The thought crossed my mind – are the Cheep Cheeps meeting a grim fate for the sake of these dishes?
Similarly, burgers at Mario Bros. Circuit and Moo Moo Meadows hint at a darker reality. Could the beloved cows of Moo Moo Meadows be the ingredients for these burgers? The notion of characters like Yoshi being part of the food chain is unsettling.
The presence of Moo Moo Meadows’ Cow and Cheep Cheep in the character roster raises questions about cannibalism in the Mario Kart universe. The possibility of Yoshi burgers and the use of Toad’s Factory for food production adds to the intrigue.
From burgers to kebabs to Prehistoric Roasts, the game’s culinary offerings raise concerns about the fate of characters like Toads, Toadettes, and Goombas. The thought of Yoshis being served in dishes like the Prehistoric Roast is particularly troubling.
It’s evident that Mario Kart World has darker undertones than initially perceived. The game’s treatment of its characters raises ethical dilemmas, leaving players with food for thought.
