Pixel 10: In summary
- Google’s upcoming flagship series of smartphones, rumored to launch on 20 August
- Should consist of four models, including a book-style foldable
- Will likely arrive with Android 16 pre-installed, introducing a new user interface design called Material 3 Expressive
The Pixel 10 series is still a way off, but there’s already a lot of buzz surrounding what will make these next-gen phones stand out from their predecessors and rivals.
With rumors of a brand-new Tensor G5 chip and improved biometric features, anticipation is building for what could be Google’s most advanced Pixel yet.
Especially as the Pixel 9 series has not quite lived up to users’ expectations, and our thoughts on the Pixel 9 are rather mixed.
Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming Pixel 10 series, including the latest news, rumors, and expert predictions on the release date, price, and specs.
When will the Google Pixel 10 be released?
In summary
- Pixel 10 series likely to be announced in August, possibly on the 20th
- The phones should go on sale soon after, tipped for 28 August
- Not even a teaser at Google I/O conference
At this stage, there’s no official release date for Pixel 10 phone.
However, a leaked date for the upcoming Made by Google event is 20 August, with the phones going on sale 28 August.
There has been confusion as 13 August was briefly tipped, then corrected, plus an invite to select Pixel superfans to a ‘Pixel Penthouse’ event on 27 June for a “sneak preview of our upcoming devices” led to some speculation this is when the phones would be announced.
August certainly makes sense, going by last year’s Pixel 9 launch, which occurred earlier than the typical October timing.
The Google I/O keynote took place on 20 May, and while it has talked about hardware at the conference in the past, there was no sign of the Pixel 10 or any other devices.
Here’s when the previous core flagship Pixel models were launched:
- Google Pixel 9 series: August 2024
- Google Pixel 8 series: October 2023
- Google Pixel 7 series: October 2022
- Google Pixel 6 series: October 2021
It looks like Google will mirror the lineup of the Pixel 9 phones with the Pixel 10 series, offering four handsets to choose from.
Leaked codenames reveal the 2025 squad as: Pixel 10 ‘Frankel’, Pixel 10 Pro ‘Blazer’, Pixel 10 Pro XL ‘Mustang’, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold ‘Rango’. These names reference different horse breeds.
Model numbers have also emerged, further confirming this lineup. Pixel 10 will use GLBW0 and GL066, the Pixel 10 Pro will use G4QUR and GN4F5, the Pixel 10 Pro XL will use GUL82, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will use GU0NP.
Google has also been spotted filming the Pixel 10 advert on a beach in Vancouver, adding to the feeling that it’s not far away.

How much will the Google Pixel 10 cost?
In summary
- Pixel 10 series should start at around £799/$799
- The Pixel 10 Pro Fold could be cheaper than its predecessor
To give us an idea of the possible Pixel 10 prices, here’s how much the Pixel 9 phones cost:
- Google Pixel 9: £799/$799
- Google Pixel 9 Pro: £999/$999
- Google Pixel 9 Pro XL: £1,099/$1,099
- Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold: £1,749/$1,799
The regular Pixel 9 is £100/$100 more expensive than the Pixel 8. The Pixel 9 Pro, on the other hand, is priced the same as the Pixel 8 Pro, likely so that the Pixel 9 Pro XL can be introduced at £100/$100 more.
Lastly, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is priced at £1,749/$1,799, the same as the original Pixel Fold.
But could pricing be more appealing? A reliable report suggests the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will retail for $1,599, which is $200 cheaper than its predecessor.
After a couple of price rises, we hope the Pixel 10 series will be cheaper, but that price dip could only relate to the pricey foldable.
