The most exciting experience you can currently have in Haneda Girl is launching yourself from your mech into a swift katana strike that propels you through a door and two enemies before summoning your mech back in a flurry of purple gore to take down three more foes. According to experts, this is known as a combo, which is great for increasing your score. Watch the trailer below to see the action in action.
Haneda Girl, developed by Studio Koba, is an action-platform stealth game where you play as a young arcade enthusiast who is transported into a video game to save Data Empire from the menacing Hackernauts. Each level presents a 2D puzzle challenge where you can navigate in your M.O.T.H.E.R mecha or traverse on foot. The mecha provides Gatling guns and shields, while being on foot allows for wall-running and stealth attacks, but with the risk of being defeated in one hit.
The game allows Haneda Girl to summon the mecha without consequences, enabling players to switch between styles based on the situation. The Steam description offers guidance on when to use each style, emphasizing the strategic aspect of gameplay. Haneda Girl combines elements from popular games like Celeste, Bro Force, Katana Zero, and Hotline Miami, offering a unique and engaging experience.
One of the innovative features of Haneda Girl is the symbiotic relationship between the two characters, allowing for strategic resource management. Ejecting from the cockpit restores the mecha’s shields, while summoning the mecha replenishes superdash attacks, encouraging players to switch between the two for optimal performance. With clever level design, these mechanics can truly shine. A demo is available on Steam, with the full game set to release on May 23rd.
