Co-op Launches Peckish, a Rapid Delivery Grocery App

Chris Conway, Co-op Food’s e-commerce director, announced the upcoming launch of a rebranded business-to-business (B2B) quick commerce app at Retail Week and The Grocer’s Live 2025 event. The app, named Peckish, is set to revolutionize grocery delivery for independent retailers in the Co-op network.

Initially unveiled as Nisa to You in a trial last summer, Peckish will provide a technologically advanced service to thousands of independent retailers, empowering them to offer online grocery shopping and delivery using their stores as fulfilment centers.

Co-op’s investment of £1m in Peckish for the first year aims to onboard over 1,000 stores, with plans to triple that number by year three. The app will streamline operations for retailers by linking with their electronic point of sale systems, offering support in pricing, stock control, and management.

Matt Hood, Co-op Food managing director, emphasized the growing consumer demand for convenient grocery delivery services. The launch of Peckish aligns with Co-op’s goal to maximize the potential of its existing portfolio of properties and strengthen its online proposition.

Co-op’s strategic focus on quick commerce is reflected in its tech stack enhancements, including a recent SAP migration and partnerships with industry leaders like Walmart Commerce Technologies. By integrating all third-party delivery partnerships on one platform, Co-op aims to streamline online order fulfilment workflows and provide a seamless customer experience.

Co-op’s Innovation Strategy

Chris Conway highlighted Co-op’s innovation strategy at Live 2025, emphasizing the importance of looking beyond traditional grocers for inspiration. By adopting a fail-fast mentality and investing in discovery work, Co-op has accelerated its digital transformation efforts and remained agile in response to industry challenges.

As the retail landscape evolves, Co-op remains committed to driving efficiency, driving new business, and supporting the government’s growth agenda. By leveraging technology and strategic partnerships, Co-op is poised to lead the way in the quick commerce market and deliver unparalleled value to its customers and communities.
