Rockstar Games, the developers of GTA 6, have announced the acquisition of Video Games Deluxe, a Sydney-based team known for their work on various projects including L.A. Noire and Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. The studio will now operate under the name Rockstar Australia.
Video Games Deluxe was founded by Brendan McNamara in 2013, who was also the founder of Team Bondi, the original developers of L.A. Noire. Despite past challenges, the team has continued to produce quality work over the years.
The newly rebranded Rockstar Australia is expected to contribute to the development of Grand Theft Auto 6, which is set for release on consoles later this year. McNamara expressed excitement about the partnership with Rockstar Games and their commitment to creating top-notch games.
It’s worth noting that Video Games Deluxe played a crucial role in fixing the technical issues of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, which had faced significant challenges upon its release.
