Starting from January 8, 2025, Pixel 4a smartphones will begin receiving an automatic software update to the latest Android 13 version. Once the update is downloaded, your device will automatically restart to implement the changes.
Some devices, known as “Impacted Devices,” will receive additional battery management features to enhance battery performance stability. As a result, these devices may experience shorter battery life between charges, as well as changes in charging performance and battery level indicators.
To ensure our customers have the best possible experience, users of Impacted Devices are eligible for an appeasement from Google. However, if your Pixel 4a device is not affected by these changes, your battery performance will remain the same as before, and you will not qualify for any appeasement.
