Yellow Brick Games has recently announced that a demo for their upcoming game, Eternal Strands, will be available on PC via Steam on January 21st. This demo will give players a sneak peek into the magic-infused action-adventure game a week before its full release on January 28th for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Additionally, the game will be available on certain tiers of Game Pass on day one.
While there has been no confirmation yet regarding a console demo, the team has hinted at the possibility by stating “Steam only for the moment.”
In Eternal Strands, players will take on the role of Brynn, a young Weaver on a quest to reclaim her people’s cultural home. Armed with a combination of magical abilities and weapons, players will utilize a thermodynamic layer within the game world to manipulate fire and ice for strategic advantage.
Heat will spread, cold will freeze, and players can engage in real-time destruction using telekinetic powers. For example, Brynn can set a tree on fire, uproot it with telekinesis, and hurl it at enemies. Alternatively, she can create an ice wall for defense or imbue her sword with flames for offensive maneuvers.
Brynn’s agility enables her to confront colossal foes by climbing them, breaking armor to expose weak points, freezing to restrict movement, burning to clear obstacles, and more. The magical abilities also aid in traversing the fantastical city within the game.
This unique gameplay mechanic adds depth and interactivity to the traditional action-adventure genre, promising an immersive gaming experience. Keep an eye out for Eternal Strands as one of the early game releases of the year, set to captivate players later this month.
