Just a little over a month ago, Tesla CEO Elon Musk dismissed the idea of a Tesla model priced at $25,000 as “pointless” and “silly”. However, he never mentioned anything about a Tesla model priced under $30,000.
Deutsche Bank analysts recently revealed that a new Tesla model, referred to as ‘Model Q’, is set to launch in the first half of 2025 with a price tag under $30,000, including subsidies.
This means that the Model Q could be priced at a maximum of $37,499 without the federal tax incentive. With the impending end of the tax incentive, Musk’s reluctance to discuss the price of an affordable Tesla model seems justified.
The new model is expected to be cheaper than the Model 3, which currently starts at under $30,000 on Tesla’s website with incentives.
Details about the features of the Model Q remain scarce, but speculations suggest it could be a compact crossover similar to a “slimmed-down” version of the Model Y.
