LEGO Fortnite Gets a Major Update
About a year after its initial release, LEGO Fortnite is receiving its most significant update yet. The existing experience, now known as LEGO Fortnite Odyssey, is getting a big update, along with the introduction of a new social roleplaying game called LEGO Fortnite Brick Life. Both of these additions will be accessible through the regular Fortnite client starting on December 12th. LEGO Fortnite will now have a permanent unique category for all its modes and user-generated content.
Let’s delve into LEGO Fortnite Odyssey and the latest update for the game, named Storm Chasers. The Storm King has initiated a quest to engulf the entire world, and it’s up to players and their friends to locate Storm Chaser Village, forge new alliances, and gather the strength needed to thwart his plans.
Storm Chaser Village serves as the new central hub, featuring various Storm Chaser characters to interact with and receive missions from. These missions will lead players into the Storm to explore Storm Dungeons, which are regenerated and randomized every 24 hours.
The update introduces new gameplay mechanics, a revamped progression system, and component-based crafting that will challenge players to scavenge for rarer resources. Enemy difficulty has been balanced across different biomes to enhance gameplay equilibrium. Additionally, LEGO Fortnite Odyssey supports split-screen gameplay on PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
On the other hand, LEGO Fortnite Brick Life presents a completely novel experience. Have you ever dreamed of living in a Lego city? Well, now you can do just that by joining servers with up to 31 other players to socialize in restaurants, parties, and clubs, reminiscent of the social aspects seen in GTA Online.
Players will have their own customizable homes, but earning enough money to afford decorations will require taking on various jobs, such as:
- Courier – Deliver parcels to residents of Brick Bay!
- Academy Professor – Educate students at Moundale Academy.
- Security Officer – Maintain law and order in the city.
- Scoundrel – Play pranks on fellow city dwellers.
- Sushi Chef – Serve delicious sushi in Brick Bay!
- Bobom Milk Tea Bobarista – Prepare refreshing beverages for the residents.
- Fortune Teller – Predict the future and earn new furniture!
Players can switch careers at any time.
Once you have earned some money, you can purchase and personalize your own home on available lots within the city. Whether you prefer a suburban or downtown location, the furniture catalog on your in-game phone offers a variety of customization options. Players can also utilize Decor Bundles and Builds from the wider Lego Fortnite universe.
You can socialize with other players at various locations such as the town square, the beach, Durrr Burger, and Mourndale Academy. The Rooftop Club is set to open on December 18th with an exciting in-game event. Communication is facilitated through Fortnite’s standard chat restrictions, allowing text chat, emotes, and jam tracks.
This update brings a fresh and intriguing direction to the world of Fortnite, drawing inspiration from the social gaming trends of the early 2000s.
