Exciting news for fans as Soul Reaver 1 and 2 are set to be remastered, bringing back the beloved classic games with some modern upgrades.
However, a recent change in the game’s glyph statue design stirred up some controversy among fans, with many expressing disappointment over the altered appearance.
Fortunately, the concerns have been addressed, and the statue has been reverted to its original look, much to the delight of the fanbase. Raina Audron, the director of the remasters, confirmed this positive change.
According to a close associate of Audron, “The statue that has caused so many complaints among certain compartments of the fandom, that has been reworked.”
He further mentioned, “As you get with trailers these days, it was indeed a work in progress and things will continue to be worked on.” Here’s a glimpse of the updated statue:
Although Raina’s presence was limited in the video showcasing the remasters, she delivered a special message to her YouTube followers at the end of the video.
Prior to her role at Aspyr Media working on the Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered collection, Audron was actively involved in running a fan site and a YouTube channel dedicated to the Legacy of Kain series. Recently, she has been providing fans with insider insights into the Soul Reaver remasters.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered is scheduled to release on December 10th for Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PS4, and PS5.
