We’re now in a significant period for Apple, not the iPhone launch season, but the time for WWDC, offering a glimpse into the future of Apple’s ecosystem.
As WWDC 2025 approaches, details about Apple’s plans remain scarce, but the event is expected to heavily focus on AI. While there may be new hardware like AirTag 2, the main spotlight will be on the future of Siri. It has been a year since the new Siri was introduced, and Apple has confirmed that the features will be gradually rolled out over another year.
Apple is also set to introduce a revamped Apple Health, featuring a new AI Doctor that could revolutionize the health management of millions of users. While Apple Health has already been credited with saving lives, further enhancements could potentially save even more.
Here are three key areas where Apple could enhance a redesigned Apple Health.
1. A true AI-powered doctor

Apple Health has been instrumental in my health journey ever since I had a heart attack five years ago. I always wear an Apple Watch, currently the Series 10, and all my devices are synced to my iPhone. The deep integration with medical records is why I stick with an iPhone over an Android phone.
In the US, Apple collaborates with electronic medical record programs to automatically update its health app with medical records. Whether it’s a blood test, new diagnosis, or medication change, the app seamlessly pulls in the information from your healthcare provider.

Despite having a wealth of data from various sources like my Dexcom CGM for diabetes, Apple Health currently underutilizes this information.
There are numerous possibilities for an AI-powered doctor in Apple Health. For me, the most crucial aspects would be faster device syncing and the ability to retrieve information through Siri. When I’m on the go, I want to effortlessly access my glucose levels by simply asking Siri, without the need to manually check my phone. This convenience would greatly enhance my health management.
An AI-powered Doctor integrated into Apple Health sounds like an exciting future prospect.
2. A more holistic approach to Health

Apple Health contains a wealth of data, which can make it overwhelming to navigate compared to other fitness trackers. I hope a redesigned Apple Health will prioritize holistic health, accurately monitoring a wide range of biomarkers using just your Apple Watch.
Alternatively, Apple could present app-specific data within Apple Health to provide a comprehensive overview of your health in one place. While Apple Health already offers this to an extent, the current approach requires users to seek out and interpret the data themselves.
This could involve tracking food intake, detailed sleep analysis, and gaining deeper insights into activity levels through footage captured on your phone. These features are reportedly part of the new Apple Health, expected to debut in iOS 19.4 next year.
3. Health and Fitness under one roof

Apple Health stands out by not including fitness features, as Apple prefers to keep those under a separate name and subscription. While this makes sense from a business standpoint, it creates a disjointed user experience that could be more seamless.
My ideal scenario would be to integrate Fitness+ into Health, leveraging the data and the new AI doctor to suggest personalized workouts. With a vast amount of data at its disposal, Apple could provide tailored recommendations by anonymizing and analyzing user information, similar to Epic Systems’ approach with MyChart and its extensive data points.
Imagine a scenario where Apple aggregates data from various devices and medical records to create a digital profile of each user. This profile could then be used to compare markers and conditions with similar demographics, recommending activities tailored to individual fitness levels and goals.

As part of a holistic health approach, I look forward to hearing more about Apple’s potential for non-invasive glucose monitoring with the Apple Watch. Establishing a partnership similar to Oura and Dexcom’s glucose monitors could further solidify Apple’s role in our daily health management.
Tim Cook believes that Apple’s most significant impact on humanity will be in Health. While this is already evident, the introduction of an AI doctor could usher in a new era of health management, and a revamped Apple Health could make it an essential health app for an even larger user base. Exciting times lie ahead next month as we await Apple’s revelations.
