If you’re craving more zombie stories after the finale of The Last of Us season 2, 28 Years Later might just be the perfect fit.
Over twenty years have passed since Cillian Murphy’s character woke up in a world ravaged by a mysterious virus that turns people into zombies. The original film, 28 Days Later, directed by Danny Boyle, kickstarted a series of survival horror movies. Now, in 2025, Boyle returns to this post-apocalyptic world with a new installment, 28 Years Later, launching a new horror trilogy.
While Cillian Murphy does not make an appearance in the movie, the cast includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, Erin Kellyman, and Emma Laird, among others.
