1 TB Apple Data Leaked in Luxshare RansomHub Cyberattack

Luxshare, an Apple supply partner, fell victim to a significant cyberattack in December, resulting in hackers obtaining sensitive information on the firm’s customers. According to Cybernews, over 1 TB of confidential Apple data was part of the data breach from Luxshare’s systems.

The cyberattack was revealed on December 15, 2025, by the ransomware group RansomHub, who claimed to have infiltrated Luxshare’s internal systems and gathered a vast amount of top-secret data belonging to the company and its high-profile clients. RansomHub threatened to expose the information after accusing Luxshare executives of trying to cover up the incident instead of negotiating.

Security experts have identified RansomHub as a prominent ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) operation, mainly focusing on industrial manufacturing and healthcare sectors.

What Information Was Compromised?

Cybernews researchers confirmed the authenticity of the leaked data, which includes highly confidential Luxshare documents related to Apple projects spanning from 2019 to 2025. Given that Luxshare assembles popular products like the iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch, it is likely that the breach contains sensitive details about unreleased products.

The stolen data reportedly comprises:

  • Technical Designs: 3D CAD models, high-precision geometric files, and manufacturing drawings.
  • Engineering Data: Circuit board layouts, electrical architecture, and internal engineering PDFs.
  • Logistics: Repair procedures and workflow descriptions between Apple and Luxshare.
  • Personnel Data: Names, job titles, and work email addresses of project-involved employees.

In addition to Apple’s data, RansomHub claims to possess confidential information from other tech giants such as Nvidia, LG, Tesla, and Geely.

Implications Beyond Product Leaks

While product specifications may attract attention, the breach’s real danger lies in exposing contact information and internal processes, leaving Apple and its partners vulnerable to targeted attacks. The cybercriminals challenged Luxshare’s leadership on the dark web, urging them to prevent further leaks.

The cyberattack on Luxshare has severely compromised Apple’s supply chain security and secrecy. The impact of this breach may unfold over months or even years.
